IYRS students learn their craft through the hands-on restoration of historic watercraft, and the program depends on donated boats as teaching tools.  First-year students work in teams of two on Beetle Cat sailboats, while second-year students work in larger teams on more challenging wooden boat restoration projects.  If you have a wooden boat, either sail or power that is in need of restoration, consider donating it for use in the IYRS education program.
Boats should be wooden, well-built, and well-designed vessels with some historical significance. Each vessel offered to IYRS will be considered on individual merit and relevance to the program.
People interested in offering the school their vessel can email Clark Poston or call him at 401-848-5777 x210.  Please provide a description of the boat with designer/builder, the year it was built, its principal dimensions and a description of the vessel’s present condition. Photographs are appreciated and can be returned. We do more than just car donation.
